Let’s work together to build a better future.
Early on
I have always been fascinated by the natural world. I have been lucky enough to live in many different parts of the UK and Germany. This broadened my horizons and allowed me to appreciate the special qualities of different places, along with the common issues we face.
I studied Geography at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, focusing on physical geography and geology. Following that, I completed a Masters in Rural and Regional Resources Planning at Aberdeen University. This was where I had my first introduction to EIA.
In 1996, I joined the Institute of Environmental Assessment, now IEMA. Then, in 2000, I joined a multidisciplinary consultancy where I provided specialist environmental assessment and environmental planning advice. Whilst there, I gained invaluable experience working on a wide range of projects of different scales and in different sectors.
Current
The year 2020 changed life for many people. It presented me with an opportunity to reevaluate my priorities and consider how I want to work over the coming years.
I took the decision to set up Carroll Environmental. Carroll Environmental was created in response to the climate and environmental emergency that we now face and the need for high quality information to be shared both within, and from, multidisciplinary teams.
I want to continue to work with clients, planners, architects, engineers and other environmental specialists to ensure that climate and environmental considerations are embedded into project planning and decision-making. I have seen the benefits that doing so can bring.
Allow me to share the benefit of my experience by providing you and your team with tailored environmental assessment and planning support.
